Definition of Castaway – not standing the test, unfit, unapproved, rejected, reprobate.

Paul kept himself in subjection, he kept believing to the end.  This he needed to do, to finish his course.  “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:  Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day:  and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.”  2 Timothy 4:7-8 KJV  If Paul did not want to go to Heaven and turned his back on God, he surely would not be there today!

“For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears,” 2 Timothy 4:3 KJV

“The Jews therefore strove among themselves, saying, How can this man give us his flesh to eat?”  John 6:52 KJV  (the unbelievers questioning sound doctrine)

“Many therefore of his disciples, when they had heard this, said this is an hard saying; who can hear it?  John 6:60 KJV  (the believers questioning sound doctrine)

“When Jesus knew in himself that his disciples murmured at it, he said unto them, Doth this offend you?”  John 6:61 KJV (the believers doubting sound doctrine)

“But there are some of you that believe not.  For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray him.”  John 6:64 KJV

Isn’t it amazing that Jesus knew who was going to betray him and yet he still gave them power?  Why?  Because all that he gave power to, had “FAITH.”  They had a believing, saving faith in Jesus.  We know this is true because “satan can’t cast out satan” and these seventy and the twelve disciples had power to cast out devils.

These are some of the same disciples He appointed and gave instructions and POWER to, to labor and perform the will of the Father.  Even the power that He gave them could not seal them, when they decided that the path was too hard to follow, they lost their faith in Jesus and the Bible teaches that “faith without works is dead.” James 2:20  KJV

I come back to the verse in the Gospel of John that you gave to me, “And this is the Father’s will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.”  John 6:39 KJV

“Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.”  Hebrews 3:12 KJV

“And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father”  John 6:65 KJV

“ From that time many of his disciples went back and walked no more with him” John 6:66 KJV
(the believers rejecting sound doctrine)

Remember, Luke 10:3, where the Lord called them lambs?
Remember, Luke 10:20, it is the Lord who said their names are written in heaven

Do you honestly think their names are still written in the Lambs Book of Life when they turned back and walked no more with him?  He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.  (Revelation 3:5) KJV  So, apparently, our names CAN be blotted out!
